Why use the Compucage computer lock?

There are several features and benefits that make Compucage lock the best choice.

The Compucage is the strongest level of all the computer locks on the market. All the others use cables, screws and glue. And the most laptop locks use the lock slot built into laptops. The lock slot is a good choice for tamper proofing and securing a laptop or desktop computer during the day and when there are people around.

A thief that comes prepared will not be scared off by a locking cable. The cable is impossible to break with human hands and very difficult to cut with common cutters. However, a good pair of commercial cutters, like the ones they use to cut large power lines, will cut any computer lock with ease.

Don’t let this deter you from using your cable lock. These cutters are not sold in your average hardware store and they are very expensive and hard to get. But, a thief that knows what he is doing will have them ready if he is targeting computers that he knows are locked with cable locks.

That’s where the Compucage comes in. If you have an office in a remote commercial area where there is no one around on the weekends or a night. A thief has more time to mess with the computer locks. He wont bother messing with a Compucage.

The Compucage T series wraps around a tower computer with two steel plates that are literally bolted into the concrete floor with bolts.

The concrete fasteners supplied by Security Solutions are so strong that when tested they will achieve “cone” failure . This means that with many thousands of pounds of pulling force you would pull a cone shaped chunk of concrete out of the ground and the fastener fill not fail.

Our customers using the Compucage that have had theft attempts have reported no more damage then small marks at the bottom edge of the Compucage. The marks make it obvious that the thieves where using a crow-bar to try and pry the Compucage from the floor,

Laptops:

There are 4 versions of the Compucage for laptops:

Compucage Spyder:

The newest and most popular version is the Compucage Spyder. It’s the sleekest and lightest design yet. It holds the edges of the laptop screen, grips around the bottom back edge of the laptop and there is an adjustable bar running across the back of the laptop.

The bar under the back of the laptop gives that added benefit of raising the back of the keyboard and making it a bit more ergonomic..

You can also lock the Compucage Spyder diagonally across your laptop when your laptop is in the closed position making it extremely difficult for a thief to open it.

It can be bolted to the desk or tether with a cable (included) that is much thicker and stronger then the normal laptop cables.

Benji 1:

This is very much the same as the Spyder except it’s heavier and more robust.

Benji 2:

This is also very similar except that does not have the ability to lock the laptop in the closed position. The extra bars that allow this extra feature will likely block access to a DVD rom drive. If you need access to the DVD drive on a regular basis while keeping your laptop locked, then this version is for you.

R8690:

The R-8620 is geared for the retail store environment. It is almost invisible to the customers yet boasts the same level of security as the Benji and Spyder. Plus, there is an optional track that can be bolted to the display shelf allowing the retailer to slide the laptops around while still locked up.

Most of the Compucage line is available in keyed differently, keyed alike and master keyed variations.
